Elaine: Whatssup people, just came back from camp...its a really cool camp cause we get to sleep in an antic, mysterious and dirty place. reminds me of the house of wax....
Anyway i learn alot from that camp especially from the last talk which talks bout Evangelism. It makes me think m i doing enough for God? I look at zillions of people that i pass by everyday, and most of them are not save and were deprive from the rights of knowing the God. It makes me think how m i to reach out to them?
I remember after the camp, we were ask to reach out to the people that went for evening mass with us and one of the participants say: Its hard and i dont know how!
Actually the answer is very easy. Since the first on our list to evengelise is Catholic..... (evil grin) Every sunday in CKK, me and Adrian and some other people will be in church at 8am. Other than opening a booth to sell our stuff, some of us would stand at the door with a genuine smile, holding Lifeline pamphlet and greet people and invite people to go to lifeline :)
You may think that its because we want more people to go to lifeline and increase the number of people so that we can b a happening ministry but NO>........the main point we do this is we know that Lifeline provides people with spiritual food which can save thier soul so if those people come to lifeline they will have a chance to get save :)
So we really are sort of have there (as the Bible say the harvest is plenty but labours are few) so this is one of a very easy way to evangelise to Catholics :) if got more suggestions do post it up :)

irene: hey gurl! hope you're having fun now that you're back studying..and left adrian high and dry :P hehe, like you're so indispensable la konon.. good post! and i need to start cranking on spreading the good news.. altho i'm simply hopeless.. as you so eloquently put it, TeRRriiiBLLLe TeRRiBBLLLe :)
you can try and start getting out of your comfort zone by joining us on sunday to help out on inviting people to come for cell group :) can???
Hmmm, I know it may be a girl-thing to share a blog, but this seems a bit weird...you seem to be commenting to yourself.
Oh well.
Girls.
On the other hand, interesting article...but you do seem to imply that those who aren't in Lifeline don't "have a chance to get save" [sic] =) but of course, the underlying message is still understood though...I think inviting people to Lifeline is a good way, but first and foremost should be to LIVE the Good News and witness to that cause. This, I believe, is the most effective way of evangelising, but it does take time. So the best would be to live the Good News AND physically evangelise.
I also think that methods of evangelising can be a very subjective matter. Some of us aren't very "people" people and hence aren't able to do properly greet people and smile and invite them to come for Lifeline. We are created in very different ways, and have different abilities and giftings, which can (and SHOULD) be used to evangelise more effectively rather than follow a fixed pattern =)
Just some musings.
irene: that's because elaine is so sloppy in keeping it tidy here, and it's soOOoOOoo not a girl thing! please la...it's kewl to share a blog, i think. ehrm. for what's worth, your musing is
well said. to elaine: think mr. chowkueyteow just answered your question. haahh. phew...
Elaine :I'm not saying that people that don't go for lifeline won't get save, its just lifeline is one of the ways...
I understand that some may not be made to reach out like that, there are other ways too..thats y i ask you all to suggest it in the end :)
You did say about living the good news and talk the talk and walk the walk...are you doing that? if not y??? :P
I rise this up not to offend you but to challenge you all to think and act :)
I believe that some when they are challenge only they will hav the motivate to move thier butt :P
irene: well, after what you guys said, i'm more confused than ever. i've been told-hmm guess who..(and even implied in the bible) that evangelising is a more active role, but i'd very much like to agree with aa's musing for people who aren't 'people' people. In my opinion, you can take only 1 road, to be active or passive and when you're passive, i wonder whether we can ever get a chance to tell them without sounding, well, like a salesman. And i wonder whether u can actually fuse them together after a period of time (probably very long) or passive evangelism actually works.
Hmmm...I'm pretty confused myself.
But I think it IS possible to be passively active, and actively passive in evangelism, and that passive evangelism actually works; it just takes a hell lot of time.
Being passively active or actively passive is like witnessing through actions to a great extent, so that affiliates would begin to question what makes this person so special...
But as said, it does take a lot of time.
On fusing active and passive evangelism after a period of time, I believe that one can actively evangelise while being passive; that is to say that whenever a person asks the reason for being what we are, replying "Christ" would be active evangelism in itself.
Hmmm, I think I'm going round and round in circles with my thoughts.
actually for htose who are not people 'people', they dont really have to worry if they cant reach out or evangelise to people....
all they need is to have the passion...when someone have the passion to want to evangelise, he or she would lgo to certain extent to learn how to evangelise and the tactics to do so...
I guess all you need is the heart and passion to do it....
Keep up the good work »
